Welcome to our course on Great Literacy Teaching in Primary Schools for class teachers & teaching assistants from early years to Year 6. This course is designed to equip educators with the latest strategies and insights to enhance literacy instruction, ensuring that every child develops strong reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
Literacy is the cornerstone of a child’s education, opening doors to all other areas of learning. Effective literacy teaching not only improves academic performance but also fosters a lifelong love of reading and learning. The EEF has found that learners improve most consistently when the approach to reading and literacy is balanced, combining a focus on reading comprehension and the decoding of words.
In this course, we will explore evidence-based practices that have been shown to significantly improve literacy outcomes in primary school students.
