Amongst our SIP team are:

- A former Director of The Headmaster’ and Headmistress’ Conference (HMC)
- A former National Director of The Boarding School’s Association (BSA)
- Former Directors of Education at Cognita Schools

*NB Current HMIs are prohibited by Ofsted from carrying out any school improvement work

This gives us an unrivalled knowledge of school improvement, school leadership, teaching and learning and school inspections.

High Quality Innovative Teacher CPD INSET
Personalised
Too many companies offer off-the-shelf INSET which is not adapted to the individual needs of the school. Our courses are personalised – i.e. built on the identified needs and requirements of the school rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach.
We are used to differentiation for pupils so why shouldn’t we expect it when training staff also? We firmly believe that the one size fits all approach to CPD is totally outdated, as such we use formative assessment throughout our training to identify your needs and act upon them.
Professional
All our JMC Associates are experts in their fields : Chief Examiners, HMI’s / Ofsted & ISI Inspectors, Principals & Headteachers & Executive Headteachers & Principal Consultants
A pdf copy of the slides is always made available with the INSET, along with further materials and targets for action.
Practical
We model best practice in teaching in our workshops, whether online or face to face – we make sure the CPD relates to your teaching theory and/ or subject specialism and the needs of your learners. Metacognition, collaborative learning, assessment for learning & feedback all play a part in our training.
Collaborative & Active learning for teachers
Collaborative – while teaching could be seen as a solitary profession, collaboration with your fellow teachers and colleagues has been identified as one of the most relevant features required for teacher learning. High quality CPD also requires action, delegates need to be doing something – actively learning. You want strategies and resources that they can use in the classroom tomorrow not theories that you have to work out for yourself how to apply. Finally, there must be follow up, either a subsequent visit by the Associate and/or teachers working together to try out the new teaching ideas, peer observe and critique. New skills and ideas need time to take hold; experimentation and refinement is the best way to embed new ideas into your classroom practice.

“Thank you so very much for the fantastic INSET yesterday. It was without doubt the best INSET I have attended and absolutely met my hopes of providing a ‘health check’ and ideas to energise, the buzz this has already stimulated has been great”.
