“Outstanding and Inspirational INSET”

Sarah Lemmon, Headmistress, Redcliffe School, Kensington

At JMC we have a passion for great teaching and learning. We offer a robust range of courses, all enriched with ideas, techniques and strategies to help bring out the best in the practice of all teachers.

What is High Quality Teaching and Learning?

High Quality teaching draws on research and evidence. Despite increasing calls for evidence-based practice in classrooms, teachers’ lives are so busy that it is often hard for them to access and effectively implement the best principles emerging from education research – that’s where JMC comes in.

High Quality Teaching & Pupil Premium

Making sure an effective teacher is in front of every class, and that every teacher is supported to
keep improving, is especially important for socioeconomically disadvantaged pupils. Investing in high quality teaching should rightly be a top priority for Pupil Premium spending. The EEF recommend at least 50% of your school’s PP funding should be spent on this, the JMC INSET courses are the ideal way to invest in professional development for teachers to support for early career teachers, and improve recruitment and retention.

Evidence- based Learning

Our Associates draw on a wide range of data from educational metanalyses on the most effective pedagogies for delivering outstanding teaching, as well as those from cognitive science which help us understand what deep learning looks like.

Sustainable Improvement of Teaching and Learning

Our whole school or whole department approach provides unique opportunities for teachers to work together to enhance and develop their practice.

Meeting your outcomes

Our teaching and learning courses can be tailored to address the priorities of your school. They can be adjusted to meet your objectives and CPD needs.

Improving the Quality of Education

The quality of education provided by a school can be judged against the effectiveness of the teaching. ‘Great Teaching’ is according to Professor Rob Coe ( formerly of Durham University), that which “leads improved student achievement using outcomes that matter to their future success”. We will not only deliver high quality CPD which matches with your school or departmental development plan , but also provide you with the next steps you need to sustainably improve pupil outcomes over time.

“Valuable professional development delivered with clarity. Clear, concise and to the point.”

Matthew Edwards, Assistant Headteacher, Northampton School for Boys
