This course helps prep/senior school teachers support students with SpLDs, such as Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Dyscalculia and ADHD, through practical strategies aligned with the SEND Code of Practice. It focuses on early identification, inclusive teaching, and personalised classroom support.

This INSET, Supporting Learners with Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLDs), is an essential professional development opportunity for Educators who are committed to inclusive teaching. Grounded in the SEND Code of Practice (2015), this session delivers a practical and policy-aligned understanding of SpLDs such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia (DCD), and ADHD. Participants will explore how these difficulties affect learning in secondary contexts, and how to recognise key signs in the classroom. The training also covers assistive technologies and evidence-based strategies, helping teachers meet both statutory expectations and pupil needs.

In line with national guidance and legal duties, we empower teachers to implement personalised support, differentiated instruction, and reasonable adjustments. Educators will be guided through the “Assess, Plan, Do, Review” cycle and gain hands-on experience adapting lessons for neurodiverse learners. Through interactive activities, case studies, and access to curated resources, the session ensures that participants leave with actionable insights and the confidence to foster inclusive, high-performing classrooms. This is more than training—it’s a vital step in meeting your school’s responsibilities under SEND legislation while ensuring all students can thrive.
